Description

This is a very famous tea that is hard to find the true recipe. Without knowing the history of Nurse Caisse and her success in helping thousands of people who suffered from disease so many years ago, you can be easily duped into buying the wrong recipe of Essiac Tea. Nurse Caisse was pressured by a pharmaceutical interest to sell her recipe, and she did sell it. That recipe is the one touted all over the internet as “the original recipe” and “from Canada”. It is a 4 herb recipe. The problem with this recipe is that it was her original recipe, but not her best recipe. She worked with a doctor for years to make it more effective and she ended up with an eight herb recipe that was actually famous for helping the ill. Dr. Charles Brusch is the doctor she worked with and passed her recipe on to. Our Essiac Tea comes straight from the family who was given the recipe by Dr. Charles Brusch. It is the real deal, endorsed by Nurse Caisse.

Ingredients: Blessed Thistle, Burdock Root, Kelp, Red Clover, Sheep Sorrel, Slippery Elm Bark, Turkish Rhubarb Root, Watercress.

Instructions on how to brew Essiac Tea:

Instructions for a 2-week supply of essiac tea using aggressive treatment dose OR maintenance dose.

Please note: Steps 1 and 2 will vary depending on which level of treatment dose you choose. Steps 3 thru 5 are the same regardless.

Typical Aggressive Treatment Dose: Brew a 1 to 2-week supply (Prepares 1 Gallon of concentrate, of which you will use to make your daily tea.) Aggressive treatment dose is 3-6 oz. of tea three times per day.

1. Bring 132 oz. (1 gallon plus 4 oz. to account for evaporation) of spring water or distilled water to a boil and reduce to a simmer.

2. Add 4 oz. of the essiac herbs. For accuracy, weigh your herbs on a kitchen scale (a very rough approximation of 4 oz. herbs–which weighs 113 grams–is 1 1/4 cups of herbs when using dry measurement cups. If you don’t already own one, purchase a small inexpensive home kitchen scale as soon as possible).

Typical Maintenance Treatment Dose: Brew a 2-week Supply. Usual dose is 3 oz. of tea once a day. (Some people choose to take it twice a day for maintenance.)

1. Boil 88 oz. of spring water or distilled water in a large pot. 2. Add 2.67 oz. of the essiac herbs blend. Please weigh your herbs on a kitchen scale to ensure you have the correct amount. A rough approximation if you have to use dry measurement cups is a rounded 1/2 cup. To Brew Essiac Tea One Quart at a Time 1. Boil 36 oz. of spring water or distilled water in a large pot.

2. Add 1 oz. of the essiac herbs blend. Please weigh your herbs on a kitchen scale to ensure you have the correct amount. A rough approximation if you have to use dry measurement cups is 1/4 cup. Here are the rest of the instructions on how to brew essiac tea… (in any size batch):

(Steps 3-5 are the same regardless of the dose.)

3. Turn the heat down to medium and let the tea simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Keep a cover on the pan with just a bit of air exposed to reduce evaporation.

4. Turn the heat off, cover the pan completely, and leave the mixture sitting at room temperature for twelve hours.

5. The following day, stir the tea vigorously to disperse the remnants of the herbs throughout the mixture* and funnel it into a clean standard plastic spring water gallon container (or a glass bottle, if you prefer). Refrigerate. *Leave the herb particles in the tea–DO NOT strain the herbs. Because these are powdered herbs, you don’t have to strain them out–the herbs are fine enough to be taken as you drink the tea. The herbs increase the efficacy level of the treatment. Do not try to brew essiac tea more than two weeks ahead: it will stay good for about 14 days, but after that you should make a fresh batch of tea. Shake the container well before pouring your dosages to disperse the herb particles throughout the tea. If you find it difficult to drink essiac straight, you may mix your essiac tea with fruit or vegetable juice. It’s recommended to consume essiac tea cold. The most consistent results over the years with essiac come when the doses are taken on an empty stomach. This means to avoid eating two hours before and one hour after administering essiac. However, if you must eat and take essiac at the same time, that is much better than skipping your essiac dose entirely.

Regarding Essiac Tea in General
What can essiac do for me?
It appears that essiac tea’s primary actions are to remove heavy metals, detoxify the body, restore energy levels, and rebuild the immune system, all act to restore the body to a level to where it is able to better defeat the illness using it’s own resources. In other words, essiac rebuilds the immune system and improves the illness-defeating ability of the body so that the body can rid itself of the illness.

Will essiac cure cancer or other disease?
Essiac is not a drug is not FDA approved as treatment. Essiac is not a cure for any disease. However, due to the beneficial properties of essiac tea listed above, many people who take essiac report an improvement in their immune system and increased well-being and health. Once such an improvement in health and well-being occurs, the body becomes more capable of ridding itself of disease.

Can I take essiac along with radiation or chemotherapy?
Yes, in fact essiac tends to improve the quality of life for a person on chemo and/or radiation. However, because chemo and/or radiation can destroy the chemicals and compounds that allow essiac tea to do it’s job, we recommend that you take 6 oz. of tea three times per day, rather than the regular aggressive dose of 3 oz. of tea three times per day. From our experience and experimentation, we’ve found that people on chemotherapy and radiation tend to have good results taking 6 oz. three times per day. However, some have remained on the classic 3 oz. three times per day and also had good results. Personally, when we have loved ones taking chemo and/or radiation, we recommend 6 oz. three times per day to be on the safe side.

Does essiac tea interact with medications?
No! Not to our knowledge, but we always recommend that you talk to your health practitioner if you have questions.

Can I take essiac with other alternative or traditional treatments?
Yes, and in many cases the treatments will complement each other, compounding the positive health effects. Essiac has also been known to help reduce negative side effects of traditional treatments such as nausea and vomiting. To our knowledge there is no treatment that makes essiac tea off-limits. You are advised to consult with your practitioner. If you are concerned, ease into your essiac tea usage gradually, taking 1/2 or 1/3 of the full dose at first.

How long do I have to wait to notice a benefit from taking essiac?
This is highly individualized. Some people notice an increased sense of health, well-being, and energy just days after starting essiac tea. Others find that it takes weeks or even months to notice a tangible benefit. Most people start noticing an improvement in their general health and well-being after couple of weeks taking essiac tea regularly. Essiac is most effective when taken consistently every day. We recommend taking essiac for at least 6 months if you would like to improve your health before you decide that essiac is not helping you.

How long do I continue taking essiac tea?
That is ultimately your personal decision. However, we recommend that you take the aggressive treatment dose, which is 3 oz. three times per day, until your test results return to normal and your health is completely restored. After you’ve reached optimal health, we recommend that you continue to take the maintenance dose of 3 oz. once per day. If your health problems should ever return, we recommend immediately increasing your dosage to the aggressive treatment dose until your test results and your health return to normal.

Can you take essiac while pregnant?
Yes. To the best of our knowledge, essiac tea cannot hurt you or your child.* Always consult with your practitioner.

Can you take essiac while breastfeeding?
Yes. To the best of our knowledge, essiac tea cannot hurt you or your child.* Always consult with your practitioner.

What is essiac tea typically used for?
The most common reason people begin taking essiac tea is to improve health or prevent health problems. Essiac helps the entire body detoxify which means people take it when they have a wide variety of health problems.

Is there any way essiac tea can hurt me?
To the best of our knowledge, essiac tea cannot hurt you.* Always consult with your practitioner. The only problem we are aware of is that you might experience mild stomach/intestinal irritation and/or loose stools if you start immediately on the aggressive treatment dose of 3 oz. three times per day. This is a sign of detoxification and will not harm your body as long as you’re able to tolerate any discomfort. If you are bothered by these symptoms, start with 1/2 to 1/3 of the recommended dose and ease your way into taking the full dose.

I was told to stay away from red clover. What can I do?
The manufacturer says that you don’t have to worry about the red clover. It’s a very small percentage of the formula, and the essiac with red clover taken out will not be as effective. The combination of the eight herbs removes any problematic effects red clover alone might cause.  To the best of our knowledge, essiac tea cannot hurt you.  Always consult with your practitioner.

Is this available in capsules?
Essiac capsules do exist, but we are not convinced they are strong enough. We don’t sell or recommmend them.

Do you sell tea in bottles?
No. Brewing this tea takes just 10 minutes once every 2 weeks. Buying the tea in bottles makes this tea 100 times more expensive to use and includes the use of preservatives which we don’t condone. It’s just not worth it to buy the tea already brewed.

Do you have testimonials?
Though we have many, we are not allowed to post them due to it creating a link between this tea and disease states, which the FDA says is making claims. This tea is recommended by HSI, the Health Sciences Institute.

Regarding Eight Herb Essiac
Which herbs are in eight herb essiac?
Eight herb essiac includes: blessed thistle, burdock root, kelp, red clover, sheep sorrel, slippery elm bark, turkey rhubarb root, and watercress. We use the specific form of each herb as suggested by Rene Caisse. The herbs, while having benefits of their own, may have a synergistic effect when all taken together in a specific ratio, meaning that they are more powerful when taken together than when taken alone.

Why would I choose eight herb essiac instead of four herb essiac?
We believe that four herb essiac is not as powerful as eight herb essiac. Four herb essiac was originally used with one of the herbs being injected with the other three being taken as a tea. The current-day eight herb essiac was designed to be most effective in fighting toxins in the body when taken orally as a tea. We have thousands of satisfied customers who are healthy and continue to take eight herb essiac at maintenance dose after their test results have returned to normal. They will attest to the efficacy of eight herb essiac and to the fact that they believe it is superior to four herb blends.

How does eight herb essiac taste?
Eight herb essiac has a slightly bitter taste. Some describe it as ‘grassy’ and it is somewhat like green tea in taste. Some describe it like drinking cold coffee. The watercress is the main reason for the bitterness–four herb essiac doesn’t contain watercress, which means that four herb essiac isn’t as bitter. However, the evidence from clinical trials shows that eight herb essiac IS more effective so even though it is a little bit more bitter than four herb essiac, it’s worth it to take the eight herb essiac. The bitter taste is a small price to pay for a more effective herbal remedy. Most people grow accustomed to the taste after a couple of weeks of taking essiac tea. Most people only take 3 oz. at a time, so for most it is not a problem to drink that small amount even if you don’t enjoy the taste. Essiac tea isn’t meant to be sipped and savored for pleasure–it’s an herbal medicine. It is easiest to take if you drink it quickly and avoid breathing through your nose so that you don’t taste the essiac. You may add fruit juice or vegetable juice if it makes drinking essiac tea more pleasant for you. You may also add stevia to your essiac.

Can’t I just use another brand that has a more mild taste?
A more mild taste means more mild results. In other words the tea isn’t strong enough to do the job if the taste is different. We wouldn’t recommend any tea that doesn’t taste as strong as ours.

Regarding Our Powdered Herbs
Why do you use powdered herbs?
Powdered herbs make for a more potent brew. This is because there is more surface area on powdered herbs for the extracts to seep into the tea. Anything in powdered form mixes easier and more thoroughly (Kool-Aid comes as a powder, not a stick, for a reason!) Furthermore, powdered herbs are fine enough that they can remain in the tea and be consumed along with the tea. Because herbal medicine is not an exact science, we prefer that you consume the herb particles in addition to the tea, as they might contain beneficial compounds. This is a similar argument to those who tell you to eat the whole fruit versus drinking the juice or taking a vitamin. By consuming the herbs along with the tea, you won’t miss out on any of the important chemical compounds that are part of whole foods.

Are your herbs organic?
Yes, all of our herbs are certified organic.

Are your herbs irradiated? Do they contain chemicals or pesticides?
All of our herbs are non-irradiated, and chemical and pesticide-free.

Are your herbs fresh?
Yes! Our herbs are incredibly fresh because we sell thousands of pounds of essiac herbs a month.

Where do your herbs come from?
All of our herbs are currently domestic herbs grown in the U.S. We believe that the source of our herbs provides the most reliable and consistent product at the best prices. All of our herbs come from California at the present time.

Which shipping services do you use?
We use USPS, or the United States Postal Service (the mail). We offer 2-3 Day Priority Mail, and Priory Mail International.

How much does shipping cost?

We offer a flat rate shipping price of $9.99 for all orders. This is a big discount for you as most orders we eat $4-5 of the actual shipping cost!

Will the essiac be allowed into my country? What if my package is seized by customs?
Before ordering, please confirm with you country’s regulating bodies that they will allow herbal tea into your country. You may want to tell them that the essiac herbal tea contains the eight herbs: blessed thistle, burdock root, kelp, red clover sheep sorrel, slippery elm bark, turkish rhubarb root, and watercress. However, we do not write these ingredients out on the customs slip. We simply write “herbal tea.” We are not responsible for any orders that don’t arrive to you because they are seized by Customs or other government organizations. Although we will never ship to a country that we know will refuse the essiac, we are not able to learn and keep up-to-date on the hundreds of countries that order from us. If your package is seized, you will not receive a refund, so purchase international orders at your own discretion. Customers are solely responsible for any fees or duties to receive our products into the destination country. The same terms and conditions that apply to our domestic orders apply to international returns.

Do you ship to Australia?
Yes. We include a customs letter that has been allowing the tea to successfully be imported into the country.

How soon can I expect my shipment?
We ship almost all US orders via Priority Mail and after we’ve shipped it takes 2-3 business days on average. For international orders, speed varies widely. It can take weeks in some cases for orders to clear customs. That is out of our control. We reserve the right for the package to take up to two weeks to get to you, though it hardly ever takes that long.

How come you don’t recommend that we brew the tea twice like some companies do?
Most likely, companies that ask you to bring the tea to a boil twice are using regular (not powdered) herbs, and it’s harder to get the medicinal extract out of large herb particles. We’ve tried both methods (brewing once and brewing twice) and had the same results from both brewing methods: so don’t waste your time brewing these powdered herbs twice. To our knowledge, there is no additional benefit to brewing powdered herbs twice. Some people believe that you must bring liquids to a boil twice to kill any bacteria. We don’t personally believe this, but if you do and you choose to bring your essiac to a boil a second time, it won’t hurt the essiac–we just don’t believe it is necessary.

How should I store my essiac herbs?
Store the herbs in the packaging they arrived in. Keep them in a cool, dark place (not in the refrigerator, though–it’s too cold). Unopened packets of herbs stay fresh for up to a year.

How should I store my essiac tea once I’ve brewed it?
Your brewed essiac tea must be refrigerated, since there are no additives or preservatives. Do not store brewed tea for more than two weeks, because the tea may spoil. Store your tea in spring water gallon containers or glass bottles. Dark bottles are not necessary, because your refrigerator is dark inside anyway (hence, negligible opportunity for the tea to experience light damage). Clean all containers thoroughly with hot water before using them to store your tea. Do not brew essiac tea more than two weeks ahead of time.

Do you provide tracking numbers?
We currently use USPS for shipping, since they have the lowest cost and fastest service for the typical size essiac order.  If you place your order on our website (FlaxLignanHealth.com) and create a free customer account during checkout, you will be able to log in and check on the tracking number once it has been assigned. Otherwise you will have to call customer service (or email them) to get your tracking number sent to you. Our phone number is 817-710-6918 and our email is: info@flaxlignanhealth.com.

Do you include instructions with the orders?
Yes, we include dosing instructions, brewing instructions, and contact information should you need further product support.

You may return unopened product for up to 30 days from date of purchase.

You also may return any product that arrives in damaged condition.
